A gay writer from New York travels to Ketchum, Idaho to work on a film script set in Sun Valley. His plans and life take a wildly unanticipated turn after he has a chance encounter with an elusive ranch hand at the town’s annual Trailing of the Sheep Festival.

Playwright DAVID CALE reading SANDRA
For this one-time-only presentation, Cale will read a work-in-progress preview of his newest solo play, Sandra. Sandra is a one-woman thriller about a café owner in Brooklyn whose closest friend goes missing in Mexico. After flying to Puerto Vallarta to try to track down his whereabouts, Sandra’s search for clues leads her into both a highly charged love affair, and increasingly dangerous territory. Sandra will have its World Premiere at The Vineyard Theatre in New York City in Spring 2022.
The Argyros Presents: Lewiston/Clarkston Reading
The Argyros presents a two night reading of Idaho playwright, and MacArthur Genius Award winner, Samuel D. Hunter’s plays Lewiston/Clarkston. The plays were nominated in 2019 for a Drama Desk Award for Best Play. Together the plays focus on two modern-day descendants of Meriwether Lewis and William Clark. Set at a failing fireworks stand in Lewiston, Idaho, and across the river at a big box store in Clarkston, Washington, the plays LEWISTON and CLARKSTON share the essential question: what is the true legacy of the great American push West?
