Local legends – Kathy Wygle and Danny Kennedy (August Osage County) take to the stage for a free reading of David Lindsay-Abaire’s outrageous comedy Ripcord. Directed by Pamela Sue Martin and presented by Sawtooth Productions in association with Laughing Stock Theater. The reading will be held in the lobby of The Argyros at 6:30.
Lindsay-Abaire is widely recognized as one of America’s funniest playwrights and was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for his play Rabbit Hole. Ripcord tells the hilarious story when two seventy-somethings battle over control of a desirable room in an assisted living facility. Ripcord is a deeply satisfying and vastly entertaining story of two elderly women thrown together by a comic cosmic force possessed of a wicked sense of humor.
With Lindsay-Abaire – a shape-shifting writer of always humanist works-nothing ever happens merely for its own sake…. there are deeper issues lurking below the comedic surface. – Jeremy Gerard, Deadline
